No, sorry I tried all the procedures. Here's what happened:

  • "Burn a CD or DVD in Windows Media Player". No luck. I dragged a list of files into the burn listing, and basically cipher happens. The 'start burn down' button is never enabled, and my files are never listed in the fire list. Note - step 3 says "insert a blank disc" while the WMP UI simply says 'insert a writeable disc'. In my case the disc is writeable, but is not empty. This may exist the issue. If a blank disc is required, mayhap there should be a note at the top - "prerequisites" or something like that.
  • 'Disc called-for tips' - no procedure here. Looks like this is intended simply as a description of the feature.
  • 'Burn a DVD-Video Disc with Windows DVD Maker' - non advisable, I'k just trying to store zilch files, not play a movement on tv.
  • 'Burn a CD or DVD in Windows Explorer' - the automobile play dialog never appears, and when I dbl-click the DVD burner I never encounter the 'Burn a disc' dialog box. Basically, nil happens.

The disc I want to burn to is a DVD-RW that I want to over-write. In that location are files already on information technology. The final process never says the disc must exist empty. It does say DVD-RW is supported.

And then -- what's the issue? Is it the fact that my disc is non empty? This is not clearly called out as a deal-breaker. Are there whatever other procedures that describe how to practise this?

I know I've succeeded with this before, but I do non remember how...

OK, I figured out the problem. In my case at to the lowest degree I must erase all files and then format the DVD-RW earlier I can burn down files to it.

  • Then, if I effort to burn files to a DVD-RW with files on information technology, that does not work, as described above.
  • However, if I delete the files on the DVD-RW and format the DVD-RW, then I am able to burn down files to information technology.
